Easy to use
Commonly used Special Scene modes are positioned on the PowerShot A550's Mode dial, making it easy to take tricky shots indoors, at night or when photographing kids and pets. The one-touch record/review button enables quick and convenient review of your images.

4x optical zoom
The 4x optical zoom lens lets you get close to the action without sacrificing quality. It combines with digital zoom for 16x magnification.

Canon's advanced DIGIC II processor delivers fast, responsive camera performance and superior image processing. iSAPS technology analyses each scene to optimise key camera settings even before a shot is taken. 9-point AiAF keeps your images sharply focused, even when the subject is off centre.

2.0" LCD screen
A 2.0" LCD makes it simple to frame and review your photos. The selectable Grid Line Display helps with composition, while Night Display aids screen visibility after dark.

Shooting modes and My Colors
Choose from 13 shooting modes to get that perfect shot. Eight easy-to-use Special Scene modes help with great results in tricky lighting conditions, including Foliage, Snow and Fireworks. My Colors allows special in-camera colour effects to be applied in real time to images and movies.

Great indoor and night shots
A high-speed ISO 800 setting allows you to shoot correctly exposed images in indoor or near-dark conditions without using a flash. ISO 800 also enables shooting at higher shutter speeds, reducing the risk of image blur.

Movies with sound
Make VGA quality movie clips with full audio. View them on the camera's LCD screen, or connect to a TV or PC for full screen playback.

Direct printing
Printing is almost instant with the PowerShot A550. Connect to any PictBridge compatible printer and push the Print/Share button for a full colour print within seconds. Connect to a Canon SELPHY CP printer and you can also print ID photos and movie stills.
