• Canon’s new LBP5970 and LBP5975 printers print in colour at up to 30 pages per minute (ppm) and 32ppm in black-and-white

AMSTELVEEN, June 2nd, 2008 - Canon Europe, world leader in digital imaging technology, has today announced the launch of the LBP5970 and the LBP5975 A3 colour desktop printers for small offices and corporate workgroups. The new devices are ideal for businesses that regularly require A3 colour printing, including the design and marketing sectors.

Using Canon’s distinctive four drum technology, the LBP5970 and LBP5975 produce high-quality prints at speeds of up to 30ppm in colour and 32ppm in black-and-white. They also provide a range of functionalities that are designed to promote ease of use and business productivity, including a back-up counter, enabling customers to monitor print usage, while the LBP5975 offers stapling as a convenient, time-saving finishing feature.

The printers are network-ready and can be fully integrated into a company’s IT network. Canon’s LBP5970 and LBP5975 also have the option to connect to the user’s network via wireless LAN, allowing the printers to be placed anywhere within the office. For security conscious businesses, the printers have a range of enhanced security features, including encrypted secure print and hard disk erase.

Independent research from analyst house InfoSource confirmed that Canon has retained its number one position in both the colour plus colour capable  multifunctional print market by brand for Western Europe in 2007. The compact and convenient LBP5970 and LBP5975 will strengthen Canon’s colour portfolio and help to further grow its position in the overall colour print markets.

The LBP5970 and LBP5975 will be available across Europe from June 2008.
