Ryoichi Bamba moves across from Canon USA, where he was Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Imaging Systems Group, overseeing marketing operations for Canon’s office equipment product line. His new role will see him build upon his international experience to drive continued growth for Canon Europe across all business sectors and markets. He takes over an organisation that has enjoyed record sales and profit for the region in 2007, as the biggest regional contributor to overall revenues for the Canon Inc. group of companies. Ryoichi Bamba has enjoyed a successful career at Canon spanning 36 years, including working together with Hajime Tsuruoka in Tokyo and Europe over many years. He previously worked in Canon Europe in a product marketing role and in Canon Italy as Director and General Manager, responsible for the office equipment business. More recently, he has been responsible for record photocopier sales in the US, instrumental in helping the region to achieve the highest market share of the global Canon group. Ryoichi Bamba, the new President & CEO, Canon Europe said: “Canon Europe is a hugely successful pan-European organisation, as evidenced by record financial results for 2007.
